Thorough training is vital to our success! For both staff and customers, full understanding of the systems ensures you will be able to utilize the maximum potential of the AMAG system.

Training, for our own personnel and for our Certified Resellers, is one of the vital elements that helps make AMAG Technology a market leading manufacturer. It is the quality of our training that keeps us ahead of the field, ensuring that our wide range of access control products can always be maintained at peak performance by our Certified Resellers.

Our own staff undergoes thorough and on-going training. Whatever their requirements, our Certified Resellers and their end users can be sure that the products we supply will be the most efficient, reliable and cost-effective solutions available.

We believe passionately in partnership, and want our Certified Resellers to be able to maximize the potential of the systems they install and maintain. To ensure quality education, we have fully equipped in-house training facilities that can provide specialized technical training for our Certified Reseller personnel on both the East and West Coast.

The AMAG Technology Education & Training Department offers several different classroom training courses and Distance Learning courses. Each course has its own unique focus described in detail below.

AMAG V6 - Symmetry Administrator

Previously known as Operator Essentials, this renamed interactive 2-day course was developed to introduce end users to the AMAG V6 SMS product line. It is an introductory class that will take the user through all of the day-to-day tasks of operating and administrating the SMS software. After completion of this course, users will have the fundamental knowledge needed to run reports, add cardholders, back-up the system, monitor alarms, design and create badges and many more of the everyday functions using the system. There will be several labs where users get hands-on exercises where they can create scenarios and test systems designs. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to all attendees.

Pre-Requisites:

1. All students should have a basic understanding and knowledge of Windows operating systems.
2. System operators should be familiar with security systems and technology terminology.

AMAG V6 - Symmetry Essentials

This new hands-on 4-day course replaces the SMS Fundamentals course and was developed for system integrator installers/programmers only. It provides interactive experience with hardware and software configuration for the rollout of the SMS software and Symmetry Digital Video Management products. Topics include conception of a system to actual installation and service of a working integrated Security Management System. A Certification of Achievement and a Certification Card will be awarded to those attendees that pass the certification final exam.

Pre-Requisites:

1. All students must have a thorough knowledge of industry standard terms and troubleshooting techniques.
2. All students need a basic understanding of electrical wiring, or an electronics background.
3. Students should also possess a fundamental knowledge on the configuration, and use of the Windows® operating systems, including rudimentary network topology and protocols for networking of computers.

AMAG V6 - Symmetry Global

This 2 day course was developed for those integrators/installers intending on deploying AMAG´s largest and most versatile access control offerings, the AMAG V6 Symmetry Global system. AMAG V6 Symmetry Global software has been developed to take advantage of the power and flexibility of Microsoft SQL™ Server 2000 in a multi-server distributed environment, giving centralized control and card management while maintaining the benefit of a fully distributed architecture. This course will help you understand what will be required of you, the installer/integrator, as well as your customer when deploying the AMAG V6 Symmetry Global software.

Pre-Requisites:

1. A current certification in V6 SMS Fundamentals or the new V6 Symmetry Essentials course.
2. Microsoft Windows 2003 Server certification, Windows large network environments experience.
3. Database knowledge or experience in deploying and supporting relational databases.
4. Experience supporting or deploying Ethernet 802.3 TCP/IP based LANs/WANs.
5. Experience supporting large integrated security management systems is preferred.

DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES

AMAG is proud to offer distance learning training and certification to authorized resellers! These web based courses deliver a quick and easy process for distance learning, while reducing the financial burdens of traveling expenses. Symmetry Authorized Resellers can become fully certified from the comfort of their home or office to install our products. AMAG V6 – SYMMETRY ESSENTIALS

This new interactive course is designed to provide similar familiarization with our Symmetry products as is provided in our classroom training. Developed for system integrator installers/programmers, it provides an interactive experience for the rollout of our Symmetry software and hardware, as well as our Symmetry Digital Video Management products. It is intended as an equivalent to our classroom training for the more experienced technicians and those comfortable with web-based training. A Certificate of Achievement and a Certification Card will be awarded to those attendees successfully completing the course.

Pre-Requisites:

1. All students should have a thorough knowledge of industry standard terms and troubleshooting techniques.
2. All students need a basic understanding of electrical wiring, or an electronics background.
3. Students should also possess a fundamental knowledge on the configuration, and use of the Windows® operating systems, including network topology and protocols.

AMAG V6 - SYMMETRY VIDEO MANAGEMENT

This AMAG V6 SMS Symmetry Video Management distance learning course explains how to install and configure the new Symmetry Video Management and the Video Management Server Storage modules. It is intended to be used by the technical staff that needs to install, configure and support the new Video Management modules of the V6 SMS software.

Pre-Requisites:

1. All students must hold a current certification in the V6 Fundamentals.

AMAG V6 - SYMMETRY BUSINESS

This AMAG V6 SMS Symmetry Business distance learning course explains how to install and configure the new Symmetry Business products. It is intended to be used by the technical staff that needs to install, configure and support the new Symmetry Business V6 SMS software.

RE-CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE

In our efforts to provide the very best training experience and product knowledge possible, we have modified our re-certification procedure making it even more convenient and easy to use, while offering a maximum refresher learning experience.

All certifications are valid for one year from the date of completion. If you successfully completed our training course and have a current certification, you may now re-certify on an annual basis by simply completing our new Symmetry Essentials web-based course.
