Smart Card technology is developing rapidly and new Readers are developed on a regular

Smart Cards.
In 1995, AMAG Technology was asked to provide smart card-based physical access security
systems for use in the U.S. Navy´s Multi-technology Automated Reader Card (MARC)
program in Hawaii. Since that time, AMAG contact and contactless readers have been
installed in numerous additional government and commercial facilities. AMAG Technology
smart card readers are on display at the U.S. Government Services Administration´s
Smart Card Technology Demonstration Center in Washington D.C.
