AMAG Technology Hosts 5th Annual Security Engineering Symposium
Torrance, CA (March 20, 2006) – AMAG Technology
hosted its 5th Annual Security Engineering Symposium at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna
Niguel, California, February 12-15. Seventy security engineers and consultants from
around the United States and Canada attended the event. AMAG’s business partners
from AXIS Communications, Bioscrypt, Fargo, HID, NEC, IR, ObjectVideo, and Zenitel
presented seminars on their special technologies and how they apply to the business
of security.
“The nation’s best consultants come from across the United States and Canada to
participate in this high level, interactive symposium once a year,” said AMAG Technology,
President, Bob Sawyer. “AMAG provides a forum for an exchange of ideas, networking,
and intense education on the latest technological issues affecting our nation’s
security.”
Engineers learned first hand about AMAG’s new video management software and Edge
of Network Video Server (ENVS). AMAG’s new security management solution provides seamless integration of intrusion,
video, access control and other security functions. When used with the ENVS, it provides an exceptional solution for the recording
of video based intrusion and access control events.
AMAG’s business partners spoke about cutting edge technology such as intelligent
video surveillance, biometrics, wireless access, network cameras, securing databases,
smartcards, and voice over IP and integration.
Keynote speaker Jim Francis, from Aggleton & Associates discussed
“The IP Tsunami” and the myths surrounding IP technology.
”The symposium was a memorable event, and very informative,” said Frank Ehrman,
Security Management Consulting. “The resort was beyond comparison, and travel arrangements
were flawless. Housing me at the Ritz has spoiled me forever. No future business
travel will compare.”
Attendees, AMAG business partners and employees enjoyed a beautiful
boat cruise sponsored by Bioscrypt and a friendly golf scramble event at Monarch
Beach Golf Links sponsored by HID. A dinner and awards banquet followed the golf
event. The winning team included: Marshall Pinnix, AMAG Technology, Robert Summers,
Gage-Babcock & Associates, Bill Sewell, DMJM/AECOM and Jim Battersby, JRB &
Associates.
"Education is received
all around regarding the issues our consultants face in today's
technology advanced, security-focused world," said AMAG Technology, VP of Sales,
Matt Barnette. "Listening to the concerns of our engineers helps guide AMAG
into the next phase of product development so we can provide high performance, customer
friendly security solutions."
