AMAG Technology and SMI Forge Partnership to Provide Mobile Security

Torrance, CA, August 6, 2007 – AMAG Technology announces a partnership with Smart Media Innovations (SMI). SMI products are used to verify that a card is valid or to identify the individual cardholder using data, images and other biometrics. When integrated with AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Security Management System (SMS), a mobile dimension is added to the SMS using Pocket PC based PDAs to eliminate physical constraints.

The SMI product line integrates with existing databases providing a simple upgrade to a legacy system. It also provides a stand-alone mobile mustering system.

SMI’s product line provides a database connection with a pre-loaded link to Symmetry. No data duplication is necessary as it acts as a gateway. It only needs a network link to operate to accommodate any size database.

Users can download data on a PDA with virtually any identity card. Any card which contains a number by which data can be indexed can be utilized. This includes Prox, Bar Code, MagStripe, MIFARE, DESFIRE and iCLASS. The software is installed right on the PDA.

When a card is presented, the card number is read and transmitted wirelessly to SMI Host. The details associated with that individual are then transmitted back to the PDA and displayed. The audit file is updated automatically. The SMI Host has its own image compression facility – ensuring the transfer time is kept to a minimum.
